The supercharged eight-valve four-cylinder 1.2 TSI was first used on the Yeti. The Fabia is offered with output of 77 kW. The new TSI achieves lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, better acceleration, and a higher top speed than the original atmospheric engines. The 1.2 TSI/77 kW engine is equipped with a seven-speed automatic DSG transmission system.

A completely new automatic transmission system is offered for the more powerful engine 1.2 TSI /77 kW. The original six-speed automatic Tiptronic system is now replaced by a seven-speed dual-clutch DSG transmission system known from the Octavia, Yeti and Superb.
